With more people working from home, and on laptops, some may be experiencing carpal tunnel syndrome. A workspace at home may not be ergonomically friendly, and carpal tunnel can be caused by repetitive motion, such as typing.
In this free virtual class, join Dr. Andrew Nelson, orthopedic surgeon and director of the Hand Center at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, to learn about the symptoms, causes and latest treatments of carpal tunnel syndrome. A question-and-answer session with the surgeon will follow the presentation.
The webinar, Understanding Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, is Wednesday, Feb. 17, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Carpal tunnel syndrome is tingling, weakness, numbness, and other symptoms in the hand because of pressure on the median nerve in the wrist, which controls feeling and movement in your thumb and first three fingers. It can be caused by repetitive motions or illnesses, such as hypothyroidism, rheumatoid arthritis, and diabetes.
